Nigel Brown,
Principal of Life Planning Matters™, spent more
than thirty years in the financial services
industry, serving his clients by focusing on
retirement financial planning.
In 1999, he started to change this focus by
researching, testing and improving processes
that guide baby boomers through the transition
from work into retirement. The biological
calendar has been reconfigured to create a whole
new stage in the life cycle - a period of
personal renaissance inserted somewhere after
middle age, but before old age. Totalling about
30,000 days, the question for many is "How
will I spend this time?"
Nigel has addressed many of these concerns
personally - he is a baby boomer himself! He
has completed more than 200 research interviews
with a cross section of baby boomers who are
within thinking distance of retirement.
Most people do
not have a plan. Even fewer have a strategy to
implement a plan. In an ongoing study only
a minority have any retirement planning. Of
those who do, it’s generally a financial plan.
These men and women are over 50, retired, partly
retired or within thinking distance of
retiring. They lack a “social portfolio” for
Their Time for broadening a perspective on their
work and relationships and for tapping into
their real potential.”

to your life?”
