Benefits of Coaching
Once a
client has a clear understanding of what coaching is and what
it can provide, then the coach and client establish and agree
upon how they are accountable to each other and further define
roles and goals. Agreements of this sort might include commitments
to learning, open communication, being available for feedback,
and possibly a willingness to examine beliefs and viewpoints
to see if they serve desired outcomes. Coaching can be
a powerful relationship. It requires a commitment from the client
that is proportionate with the tough challenges that are ahead.
The benefits
that you derive from coaching are entirely up to you. What is
it you want in your life? What is working and how do you get
more of it? The time to set action plans in place for 20 years
from now is now, not when you arrive 20 years from now full
of: " I wish I could-a, or should-a".
Whether
it is having more financial freedom, improved health, having
more time with your family and friends, or having that sailboat
you've always wanted. What you do for yourself now will impact
your destination or destiny. What is your ultimate destiny?
What meaning do you want your life to ultimately have?
"People are where they
are in their lives because they can't stand it any better.
When then can stand it better, they will change." - R. Bachman
Having
your career working for you is more than finding work that is
congruent with your values. How is trading hours for dollars
working for you? What are you doing to create residual income
for yourself? What are your strategies to have abundance in
your life? What protection can you set for yourself and family
from right-sizing, downsizing, and cap-sizing? Imagine for a
moment, no longer worrying about your finances.

from the Tech Republic: "More people spend more time putting
together a tailgate party than planning for their careers. In
contrast to corporate planning and mentoring, career planners
are neutral participants who help draw forth a person's goals
to create a long-range blueprint for success. A good career
coach can help professionals map out anywhere from a two- to
10-year career plan. And unlike self-directed goal setting,
the career coach is there to keep the professional accountable."

A Research
Brief from The Hay Group in 2003 called: Executive Blind Spots...Study
shows that misperception abounds-particularly at higher levels.
Hays research suggests that as executives rise in an organization,
the less likely they are to see themselves as others see them;
and they often loose touch with those who they lead. This is
not surprising, given the increased isolation and "rarified"
atmospheres many executives face as they reach the pinnacles
of their professions. With fewer peers and more power, honest
feedback and open dialogue often become rare commodities.
